performs dulcimer or
cimbalom parts in various
orchestral works. The cimbalom
– the Eastern European equivalent
of the dulcimer – is included in many
different pieces for orchestra, for
instance in operettas with a Hungarian
theme or in contemporary music. In
the “Lord of the Rings Symphony”,
both dulcimer and cimbalom
are part of the
orchestra.
